Kepler Has Discovered Over 1,000 Alien Planets

"Today astronomers believe there are planets around almost every star in the night sky.
And that perhaps one in ten stars have Earth-sized planets that orbit in the zone where life could exist.
That comes to billions of planets in just our own galaxy."

These words are taken from the video below about the Kepler mission. NASA's Kepler spacecraft has produced data confirming the discovery of more than 1,000 alien planets since it's launch in March of 2009. It's goal is to search for Earth-like planets throughout the galaxy, but it can also be an unexpected opportunity to discover intelligent life unlike the life we know on Earth. Read Saucer Time's article about Kepler's latest data recording of an un-planet-like mystery structure orbiting a star. http://www.saucertime.com/2015/10/scientist-are-serious-about-kepler.html

Scientist Are Serious About Kepler Detecting Alien Structure!

This is kind of exciting. The Kepler telescope is picking up some interesting data. 1,500 light years from Earth, an extremely large structure is orbiting the star KIC 8462852. A paper has been submitted to the Journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society about this mystery structure. According to the scientific data, the structure is not round, it's huge and it's not sending back any infrared singles like a possible circumstellar disk of dust might do. Also, the idea of an exocomet is falling short of legitimate data, so that idea might be ruled out as well. The scientists must have found something more significant in Kepler's data than we know of. Because, there is a second paper currently being written that investigates the possibility of a mega-engineering project created by an extraterrestrial intelligence! There is speculation that the giant alien structure is orbiting the star and harvesting energy from it. Stay tuned for this second paper!

Extraterrestrial Breakthroughs: Summer 2015

Hello!

I have been busy with work and was not able to regularly update here on Saucer Time, but when I get busy, I still find time to update with tweets on the Saucer Time Twitter. There has been lots of exciting extraterrestrial news the past two months. Here is a recap of my favorite headlines so far:

We flew by Pluto! Scientist are still trying to make sense of what we saw on Pluto. Lots of strange plains and mountainous regions. Categorizing terrain on an alien planet is difficult because one can only refer to what is known, yet alien terrain is completely un-known.
Here are pictures from New Horizon's fly by http://pluto.jhuapl.edu/soc/Pluto-Encounter/index.php

Ceres' Glowing Crater! Space probe Dawn is currently orbiting the dwarf planet Ceres and has sent back some super interesting photographs. Ceres appears to have a perplexing glowing surface in one of it's craters. But, it just keeps getting more interesting because now scientist say that the glowing surface is harboring some type of lingering haze...Read more about it here http://www.planetary.org/blogs/guest-blogs/2015/0721-dawn-at-ceres-a-haze-in-occator-rivkin.html?referrer=http://t.co/r0wX9SxaiE
I compared these lights to that of city lights from Earth and the haze maybe could be alien smog?

Biggest-ever Search For Alien Life! Stephen Hawking announced he is launching the biggest-ever search for alien life with the help of entrepreneur Yuri Milner who is funding the project. They will be using some of the biggest telescopes on Earth to search deep into the universe for radio spectrum and laser signals. These telescopes will be able to detect a signal from similarly advanced technology sent from the center of our galaxy. Read more on the project here http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-07-21/hawking-launches-biggest-ever-search-for-alien-life/6635296

"It's time to commit to finding the answer, to search for life beyond Earth. We must know." - Stephen Hawking

I personally know there is intelligent life out there, but it would be great if everyone else did too!

The Discover Channel Telescope

The Discover Channel Telescope had revealed it’s first photos! Glowing spiraling galaxies are showing off to the $53M telescope that took nine years to develop in partnership between Discovery Communications and Lowell Observatory. The 14 ft. telescope sets near Happy Jack, Arizona at the Coconino National Forest under a big dark dessert sky. Let us not forget Arizona is pretty much between Navada’s area 51 and New Mexico’s famous UFO crash sight, Roswell. Judging from the pictures taken by the telescope, that $53M was way worth it.

Please, please telescope, capture a picture of a UFO flying by!

The Most Humbling Picture

The most humbling picture. The NASA spacecraft Juno, took a snap shot as it was leaving Earth behind on it’s way to study Jupiter. That is Earth on the left and our Moon on the right. Would you ever guess life existed on that little dot? Personally I wouldn’t. It doesn’t look like anything too interesting to me. If I were on another planet looking through my telescope, Earth just looks like another moon orbiting another giant mass (the Sun). Life could be hidden anywhere in the Universe! Read a little more about the Juno space craft here.
